Jjjyyyeeaaahhhh!

I am finally done with my cube. Jjjyyeeaahhh! :D i actually took quite some time to figure out how to support the cube with the three paper clay sticks so that it stabilizes the whole 3D cube.

This is the complete cube from the front view

I have basically added up the small 'humans' on the dance floor. And they are made from paper clay! They are so called my party people where they gold colour on top of each humans shows how much important they are to me :)

Gemini, secretive and video games are basically just the same as the last post. However, they are supported by my sticks and superwoman now :)

The emotional side of me is complete in which I have added up the red paint on the black background using acrylic colour. The red paint represents the anger in me and I purposely put more red colour and effect besides the girl as it shows the negative energy in me.

The gay rainbow flag is placed on top of the cube. This is to highlight that I support LGBT rights and to show a sense of freedom when it is placed on top.

This is the superwoman. The Wonder Woman! One of my favourite superhero. As I have mentioned previously, Wonder Woman represents my girlfriend who basically supports me and yes, my super-heroin :) and it is placed on the front side of the cube to show that whatever happens in my life, whatever decisions I'm about to make, I have to get through her first. lol.

So, next, the booklet! I've done the rationales and all the necessary documents to be compiled. Except for the cover page and some printing for the photos and print screen.

Justifications.

Here are the photos and justifications as promised. :)

First, we have the guitar. I used music notes as a background because as i have told you before, music plays a big part in my life. The guitar? The reason is simply because i love playing guitar. It's one of my favourite past time.
The guitar and the music notes are printed out on normal A4 paper. I pasted the guitar on a piece of foam board to give it a 3D affect, since the red body already make sit stand out from the white background.

Second, the dance floor. This side represents the party animal in me. :) For the floor, i used bright colored plastic (you know the ones that you use in files sometimes as the cover or the separator) to represent happy times spent on the dance floor. As for the DJ both, i cut out a few square pieces of foam boards and covered it with shiny colored wrapping paper, then positioned it to look like a stage. The turntable and little speakers are made from foam board as well, i just painted it black and added some details with a silver pen.
This side is only 80% done, i intend to add miniature people on the dance floor and also a bigger set of speakers.

Next, we have the key. The key and the storage boxes are to represent the secretive side of me. I'm not an open book that people can easily read and i don't tell everyone everything. As i said in my profile, i am a great maze. :)
I pasted the key on a piece of foam board to give it a 3D effect. The background picture of storage boxes were printed out on a normal A4 sized paper. I purposely chose an old rustic look for this side. Somehow, the design and colors of the olden days represents secrecy and mystery more than the present designs.

Fourth, emotional.  Believe it or not, I'm an emotional wreck. I need to attend anger management classes. Know anywhere good? haha.
I painted the background black to give a sombre feeling. Pasted the girl (i really do curl up in the corner of my room at times) on a piece of foam board to make it stand out. The rose is actually made out of black satin, i decided to use acrylic to paint it red. It symbolises my emotion when I'm down at times.
As you can see, the background looks abit too empty. I still haven't decided whether to add more roses or just leave it as it is.

Fifth, my all time favourite the PlayStation! I'm a big time gamer, i play whenever i have the chance. Nothing beats the feeling of shooting some alien ass or winning a few races to let of some steam when I'm stressed out. ;)
I took a matchbox, painted it black and used a silver pen to write 'Playstation 3' for the console. The controllers are made from paper clay which i painted red and also used a silver pen to draw the details. As for the DVD look alike, i printed out small pictures of a few favourite games and pasted it on pieces of mounting boards.

On the final side of the cube, we have the twins. My astrological sign, Gemini. :) I chose this picture because it had the funkiest colour and design that i felt would represent me best. Printed on a normal A4 sized paper, i added some sequins and beads to enhance the picture.

For the base of the cube, i cut out a 20cm x 20cm piece of illustration board and painted it with black and gold acrylic paint. I purposely made it messy and uneven to represent the imperfections in me. Next i plan to hold the cube in place on the base, either with an action figure of Superwoman or if i cant find any, I'll just print out a picture of Superwoman and paste it on a foam board and use wooden sticks to support it. The action figure represents my girlfriend/best friend/mentor/my everything. haha. She's practically my back bone, so she's supporting the cube that represents me. Get it?

So that's about all that i have for now. Stay tuned for the next update! ;)

3D Cube Concept

I have done 65% of the 3D Cube so far. So, lemme just explain on how did i go about it and the overall concepts.

The base - I am using card board, a black card board and i painted it with gold colour, purposely messed up the paint. This is to show that I am not perfect as a person. I have my flaws and weaknesses.

The cube - Each slides represent things that i like and my personality. I'm just gonna explain how do I do it, what materials and etc. Justifications will come next, together with the pictures. Here it goes:

1. Music - Music notes as the background and a guitar (using foam board to get the 3D effect)
2. DJ Set and a dance floor -  Coloured papers for the dance floor. Paper clay for the DJ set. Foam board for the speakers (maybe?).
3. A box and a key - Printed out a picture of a box to represent myself. A key on a foam board pasted on the picture.
4. A girl and a black-red rose - Again, using the foam board I put an image of a girl and then a fake rose which I have found somewhere in my room. I coloured the rose as well a bit reddish.
5. A PlayStation (the game console) and the games CDs - Using paper clay for the PlayStation and joysticks. Printed out cover CDs of the video game that i like and pasted them.
6. Image of two girls, a twin - printed out the picture and put sequins on some parts of the picture.

Additional:
LGBT Flag - using cloths or maybe coloured papers. Stick it on the cube after everything is done.
So, basically i'm gonna put something on the base to support the cube. Either a toy, or just a wooden stick.
Wonderwoman - It's either i'm going to put a Wonderwoman action figure to support/lift up the cube, or just print out the picture.

Photos and justifications up in the next post, soon! :)
